But wait, what about the other grant?Turns out, our $100,000 grant is over 3 years. But wait, you didn't know that?... neither did we... Nestor has promised that he will be back before the rains to clean up loose ends.
Ok, so what's the new grant? This new $30,000 grant is for cleaning up the Assiniboine Dump behind Old Dave's place. This project will be loud and complicated and messy. Crews will be here for a week with backhoes and dumpsters pulling out everything from behind the rancho.
How can we help? Please keep the roads clear. Because of its location at the bottom of Assinibione, crews will only be able to use one dumpster at a time. This means that the dumpster will be driving back and forth through our narrow roads. There will be lots of heavy equipment coming in and out, so please help them get by. Also Assinibione Road will have a HARD CLOSURE. No pedestrians, no dog walkers, no delivery drivers. Residents will need to park on the dirt turnout.
Where does all the junk go?Debris will be recycled and disposed of properly. Tires to a tire processing facility, scrap metal to a scrap metal recycler. Anything that cannot be recycled will go to the dump.
Anything else?Yes, critters and dust. This project will be digging up lots debris, dust and critters. We recommend residents keep their windows and door closed. Please learn to distinguish between the old world invasive rats, and our local wood rat and act accordingly. Keep an eye out for Newts as they will be affected as well. Please help them get to safely.
We'd like to thank everyone for your patience and support.
Let's do this!
