Early stage SR17 Shaded Fuel Break work in Chemeketa Park to begin on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, starting around 9:30AM at the lower / north entrance to the park at Ogallala Warpath and OSCH. There will be a CAL FIRE hand crew (10), a Santa Clara County Fire engine crew (4) and a chipper doing the work. The work will consist of removing a limited number dead and dying trees in the immediate area of the lower park entrance near the water plant, the future site of the short well and water tank, and a few dead tan oaks on the hillside. This is the beginning of future SR17 Shaded Fuel Break Project work to be done along Ogallala Warpath and OSCH.
Work will start around 9:30AM on Tuesday, October 8,2019 and should end at approximately 12:00PM
There will be traffic delays entering and exiting the lower park entrance during this time frame.
Please adjust your departure and arrival plans accordingly.
Please be aware that there will be equipment and personnel in the area.
For your safety and the safety of the fire crews, please be alert, drive slowly and pack your patience.
Also be aware that work on Montevina Pipeline upgrades continues on OSCH in the area of Holy City and Edwards Rd.
